1 lb parsnip, cut in small chunks |
1 cup stout beer or 1 cup brown ale |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
2 teaspoons butter |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Combine parsnips, stout, cinnamon, and cloves in a heavy saucepan. 2. Cover and simmer until barely tender, 8-10 minutes. 3. Remove cover and simmer hard until liquid reduces to a glaze. Stir in butter. 4. Season to taste with salt and pepper. |
