This was my grandmother's recipe but I don't know the original source. It is so flavorful and a nice change from garlic bread. I always get a lot of compliments when I bring it to get-togethers. I usually double the butter compound and freeze it. It is also delicious to rub under the skin of a chicken for roasting. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened |
2 tablespoons grated onions |
1 tablespoon fresh parsley |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients together. 2. Take a french bread loaf and slice it in 1 inch slices, but not all the way through to the bottom. 3. Spread the butter compound in between each of the slices. 4. Wrap the bread in foil and place in oven until warmed through and the butter is melted (approximately 350 for 10-15 minutes but you can put in with anything else that is cooking). |
