Salad, that is very tasty and serves a large group of people. Nice to get everything ready then just toss before serving. A big hit. It can easily be cut in half...
Ingredients:
1 cup broccoli, cut up
1 cup cauliflower
1/2 lgr. vidalia onion (sliced thin)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon basil
2 cups mayonnaise
1 lb cooked bacon (crumbled)
2 cups croutons
1 head lettuce, torn up
8 ounces sliced water chestnuts
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 cup parmesan cheese, cheest
Directions:
1. In a Large bowl, mix sugar, parmesan cheese, salt, basil, and mayo. Stir well. Add broccoli, cauliflower and onion. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Just before serving, add the rest of the ingredients, toss well.
