No one does everything from scratch yet everything tastes better that way. Why not try another cracker recipe too? Ingredients:
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1/2 cup flour |
1/8 tsp red pepper |
1/4 cup butter, softened |
2 tbls cold water |
2 tbls finely chopped walnuts |
1 tbl parsly flakes |
Directions:
1. Combine parmesan cheese, flour, and red pepper; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. 2. Sprinkle cold water (1 tbls at a time) evenly over surface; stir with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. 3. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch thick log and set aside. 4. Combine walnuts and parsley in a shallow pan; roll log in mixture to coat evenly. 5. Cut log with a serrated knife into 1/4 inch slices; place on ungreased baking sheet. 6. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes or until lightly browned; cool on a wire rack. 7. Store crackers in a tightly covered container. 8. These crackers will freeze well. Yield is 2 dozen. 9. This recipe comes from Southern Living 1985 annual recipes. |
