This came from my pizza cookbook, which unfortunately seems to have had the dough recipe missing or torn out. Hence, I just put in pizza crust , a white crust that's delicate and not very nutty (like wheat or oat crust) would be best for this. Use whichever recipe you like or a storebought crust, something 12 ! This is a vicarious recipe for me as I never have this many fresh herbs or garlic around. Artichokes and other veggies would make a nice extra topping too! Ingredients:
12 inches pizza crusts |
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley |
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil |
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives |
1/4 cup chopped fresh marjoram |
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped |
1/2 cup sour cream |
salt and pepper, to taste |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning |
1 1/3 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese (or romano) |
Directions:
1. Assuming your crust is pre-cooked, combine the fresh herbs, garlic, and sour cream together in a bowl and add salt and pepper to taste. In another small bowl, mix the olive oil with the dried Italian seasoning. 2. With a pastry or BBQ brush, brush the herbed olive oil onto the pizza crust evenly. 3. Spread the sour cream-herb mixture over the pizza crust evenly. 4. Top with the parmesan cheese. 5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crisp and golden, serve immediately. |
