These are more of a breadstick than a biscuit although I guess you could roll them out and cut them into biscuit shapes. I got this recipe from a Land-O-Lakes cookbook that I received pages from every month. These are great with pasta or soup. A favorite in our house. Very flavorful :-) Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine |
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese |
1 tablespoon sugar |
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves |
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400'. 2. In 9 square baking pan melt butter in oven (3 to 5 minutes). 3. Meanwhile, in medium bowl combine remaining ingredients except milk. 4. Stir in milk just until moistened. 5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 10 times or until smooth. 6. Roll dough into 12x4 rectangle. 7. Cut into 12 (1 ) strips. 8. Dip each strip into melted butter; place in same pan. 9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. |
