Hardly a recipe, but one of my girls' favorites. On the rare occasions when we get to visit with Papa, he always makes his cheese toast and cinnamon toast for us. It's so simple, but that's what makes it great. No, not gourmet great, but I'm late for school and need to grab something and run great. My girls prefer white or wheat bread with a slice of processed cheese. Fancy it up - try sour dough with a gourmet cheese. Great with tomato soup too. Ingredients:
1 slice bread |
smear butter |
1 slice processed cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat your broiler. 2. Toast the bread. 3. Smear one side of the toast with butter. 4. Place the slice of cheese on the buttered side of the bread. 5. Place on a baking sheet and broil just until the cheese melts. 6. Watch it, or it will burn quickly. |
