This is a puff pancake. I've also heard it called German pancake or Dutch Baby .It is a slightly sweet eggy breakfast. It's quick, showy and unusual. Perfect for company brunch. It's an oral recipe so I'm not even for sure this is the proper spelling but it's a favorite at our house. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
2/3 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 eggs |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2/3 cup milk |
fruit (strawberries, peaches,etc.) |
sour cream |
brown sugar |
syrup |
whipped cream |
chocolate syrup |
sausage gravy |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Heat butter in pans. 3. I like smaller cake pans myself. 4. My mother prefers pie pans. 5. Beat eggs. 6. Add other ingredients. 7. Beat. 8. Pour into pans. 9. Bake 20 minutes. 10. Will puff up and fall when removed. 11. Loosen and serve right away. |
