I love fusion of recipes and always experiment.My style of crumbled paneer ( cottage cheese)dish which is spicy , hot and sweet and very quicky and YUMMY! Ingredients:
paneer or cottage cheese ( tofu can be used too) – 300gms |
ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp |
green chillies- 2 |
onion – 1 medium( slice it very finely) |
garam masala powder –1/2 tsp |
cumin seeds( whole)- 1/2 tsp |
tomato (puree can also be used)- 2 medium |
capsicum- very finely chopped- 1/4 cup |
salt to taste |
turmeric powder – a pinch |
red chilli powder -1/2 tsp |
oil to fry |
cashew ( crushed roughly) - 10 |
raisin (soaked)- 15 |
sugar - 1/2 tsp sugar |
coriander leaves for garnishing |
Directions:
1. Grate the paneer or you can mash it. (same if tofu is used). 2. Add 1/2 tsp of soya sauce and sweet tomato sauce and mix it well. 3. Heat oil to smoking point. 4. Add cumin seeds and let is crackle. 5. Reduce flame and add sliced onion, sauté it till it turns brown. 6. Add sugar, stir it and sauté ginger garlic paste . 7. Add tomato, capsicum, chilli , turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry for 3 min. 8. When it turns soft and pulpy add soaked raisin and crushed cashew nut and mix well. 9. Add grated paneer and stir well so that it gets mixed well with the masala. Cook for 5 mins. 10. Add garam masala and mix it. ( just before switching off the flame) 11. Serve hot , garnishing with fresh coriander leaves. 12. Can be served with Roti, naan, rice and even as filling for bread sandwich. |
