These simple caramelized apples are a great topping for vanilla icecream or waffles, and the fill the household with a wonderful aroma. The recipe is from The Fresh Market holiday catalogue. I usually chill them before I serve them. Ingredients:
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat saucepan on medium-high. 2. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a medium bowl until combined. Toss apple slices in until thoroughly coated. 3. Melt butter in a saucepan (I take the pan off the burner to do this). Add apples and cook until very soft and tender, stirring occasionally, about ten minutes. |
