Mexican wedding cookie Ingredients:
4 c flour |
2 c sugar |
2 c shortening |
1 tsp salt |
1 egg |
1 c pecans, chopped |
Directions:
1. Combin flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and set aside. 2. Mix well egg and shortening. Add dry ingredients plus pecans to the egg and shortening. Mix with hands until well blended into dough 3. Divide dough and form into grapefruit-sied balls. Roll out dough, one ball at a time to approximately 1/4 inch theickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. 4. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. 5. Remove from oven and while hot, dust cookies with sugar and cinnamon mixture until well coated. Cool. |
