My sister gave me this recipe. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3/4 cup chopped walnuts |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
4 cups thinly sliced pared apples |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 egg, beaten |
1 cup melted butter |
Directions:
1. In small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup walnuts. 2. Place apples on bottom of greased 8 inch shallow baking dish; sprinkle apples with sugar-nut mixture. 3. Mix remaining sugar and dry ingredients together. 4. Combine egg, milk and melted butter; add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth. 5. Pour over apples and sprinkle remaining nuts over top. 6. Bake in 325°F oven for 55 minutes. 7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream flavored with cinnamon. |
