This recipe comes from a little book called ABC of Jiffy Cookery. I've had it for over 50 years. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet. I'm putting them here so I can find them easier. Ingredients:
3 onions, fried in butter |
1 lb mushroom |
1 pint oyster |
1 recipe white sauce (your favorite) |
sherry wine |
4 pieces toasted bread |
Directions:
1. Add mushrooms to the onions which have been fried until light brown, and cook for about 15 minutes. Combine with 1 pint of raw oysters and 1 standard recipe of white sauce. Add sherry. Cook gently a few minutes and serve on toast. |
