Mangetsu (Full Moon) was a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan that my parents liked to frequent when they took the train from Yokosuka for a day trip. This is from their recollections. Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped cabbage |
4 oysters, out of shell |
1 tablespoon chopped onion |
1 egg |
3/4 cup flour |
1/2 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together, then turn onto the greased grill in one heap. 2. Flatten it a little. Fry like an omelet or a pancake, turning several times to brown well on both sides. 3. Serve with sprinkled with Japanese dark red pepper, soy and worchestershire sauces. 4. Cut in half to serve. |
