I have used this recipe for many years, it can be used as an appetizer or a main dish. Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups breadcrumbs, fresh |
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 teaspoons basil, dry |
2 teaspoons parsley |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
16 ounces whole oysters (canned) |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
2 tablespoons dry white wine |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 deg. 2. Combine bread crumbs, cheese, pepper, herbs, and garlic powder. 3. Sprinkle a third of the mixture in a greased 2 quart casserole. 4. Spread with the drained oysters, then top with remaining bread mixture. 5. Combine in a small bowl the oil, wine and lemon juice. 6. Pour evenly over the mixture in the casserole and bake uncovered for 30 minutes. |
