Another Southern dish, but this is a make-ahead for a crowd. Perfect for your brunch or breakfast. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups regular grits, cooked |
1 teaspoon onion salt |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
3/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 cup butter |
3 eggs, slightly beaten |
3/4 lb cheddar cheese, shredded |
paprika |
Directions:
1. After cooking grits, stir the grits into the other ingredients. 2. Stir this mixture into the beaten eggs. 3. Add the cheese. 4. Pour into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. 5. Sprinkle the top heavily with paprika. 6. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 7. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking. 8. Bake, uncovered, at 350ºF for 1 1/2 hours. |
