Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon(s) basil |
1/2 teaspoon(s) black ground pepper |
1 whole(s) chicken |
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic |
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil |
1/2 teaspoon(s) oregano |
1/2 teaspoon(s) paprika |
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt |
Directions:
1. Rinse chicken thoroughly inside and out under cold running water. 2. Remove gizzards, fat and pat dry with paper towel. 3. Put chicken in baking pan. 4. Rub skin with olive oil. 5. Mix spices together and rub under skin. 6. Cook chicken breast down and do not cover. 7. Preaheat oven to 500. 8. Bake chicken at 500 for 20 minutes. 9. Lower oven to 475 and bake 20 minutes. 10. Lower oven to 450 and bake 20 minutes. 11. Lower oven to 425 and bake 20 minutes. 12. Insert meat thermometer in chicken breast - if temperature is 180 chicken is done. 13. If not, cook another 20 minutes at 400. 14. If you want to add vegetables, do so for the final 20 minutes of cooking. |
