Swear you will think this is the worst gooey mess you ever made but once it bakes, each kernal will separate nicely and will not stick - very good for the holidays Ingredients:
8 quarts popped corn |
2 cups brown sugar |
2 sticks margarine |
1/2 cup white corn syrup |
1 tsp salt |
1 tp butter flavoring |
1 tsp burnt sugar flavoring |
1/2 tsp soda |
peanuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. pop the corn and sort out the unpopped kernals and set aside 2. Sometimes I make more than the recipe calls for and still have enough coating 3. Combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt 4. Boil for 5 minutes - slowly bring to a boil 5. Stir in flavorings and soda 6. Pour IMMEDIATELY over corn and stir 7. Add peanuts just before putting into oven 8. Put in 1 to 2 large sheet pans and place in 250 degree oven for 1 hour 9. Stir about every 15 minutes 10. Cool and keep tightly covered |
