and the chicken is sooooo moist. Ingredients:
4 to 5 pounds of boned chicken (do not use boneless and you want the skin on for flavor) |
1 tbsp oil |
1/2 cup chicken broth |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup cider vinegar ( i use apple) |
1 tbsp brown sugar |
1 tsp liquid smoke |
1/2 tsp paprika |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 tsp dry mustard |
1 tsp chili powder |
1 small onion chopped well |
pepper to taste |
1 pkg of dry onion soup mix |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. In large skillet, brown chicken on all sides in oil; remove & drain 3. Place chicken in greased large baking dish (at least 13 x 9) 4. Combine all other ingredients EXCEPT dry soup mix in bowl together 5. Brush over chicken on both sides 6. Then pour balance left over all in pan 7. Sprinkle dry onion soup mix over each piece 8. Cover and bake for 45 minutes 9. Remove foil and continue baking till chicken is cooked 10. Broil for about 5 minutes only 11. Serve 12. Have lots of napkins available for what you and your family don't lick 13. off the sauce from your fingers!!!!! |
