Outta buttah? This is THE pound cake.It made a small bakery famous; people begged for the recipe; I read the food section in the paper that day. Been makin' this for years, even if I'm not outta buttah . Read more . It's in the oven now!! :) Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
3/4 cup crisco (gotta use crisco) |
3 eggs |
1 cup *buttahmilk |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons almond extract |
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. In large mixer bowl, cream sugar and Criso until light and fluffy 2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition 3. Combine all dry ingredients together, except for baking soda 4. Add soda to *buttahmilk* 5. Alternately add dry ingredients and *buttahmilk* to creamed mixture 6. Add 2 teaspoons almond extract, and 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 7. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees, or until toothpick inserted in middle of cake comes out clean 8. May add an almond glaze, vanilla glaze, lemon glaze, etc. OR no glaze and fruit 9. DELICIOUS! |
