This is a good homecoming or cookout pie! I have not made it myself, but have had it at homecomings! Hope you enjoy! Ingredients:
2 eggs, separated |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped |
1/2 cup raisins |
1 tablespoon butter, melted |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
1 unbaked 8-inch pie shell |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Beat egg yolks until light and thick. 3. Sift spices with sugar. 4. Add to the yolks. 5. Add pecans, raisins, butter and vinegar. 6. Beat egg whites until stiff. 7. Fold egg yolk mixture into the egg whites. 8. Pour into unbaked pie shell. 9. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce to 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. |
