The main ingredients in the recipe is the phyllo dough (kunafa dough) or (kataifi dough) which you can find in any mediteranian or middle east groceries.Make the effort,try to find it and surprise your gests!!! Ingredients:

250 grams kataifi (kunafa dough) cut into 2 cm stipes |
40 grams sugar |
3 tbsp melted butter or ghee |
1/4 cup cold syrup (1cup sugar,1/2 cup water and few lemon juice drops) |
filling |
1/2 cup whipped cream |
1/4 cup blanched almonds,sliced |
1/4 cup roasted pistachio sliced |
4 tbsp clear honey |
Directions:
1. 1-Preheat oven to 350F,lightly grease 12 muffins paper cups or silicon muffins cups with melted butter or ghee. 2. 2-In a bowl,combine kunafah dough and sugar,pour over the melted butter or ghee and rub the mixture till all dough is combined with butter.Take a little portion of the dough and pat it in the cups making sure you cover the sides and the bottom tightly.Use a teaspoon to make sure you are not leaving spaces between the stripes. 3. 3-Bake for 15 minutes till golden in color,take out the oven and dizzle 1 1/2 tbsp cold syrup over each cup.Cool for 15 minutes,and carefully take them out of the cups using a sharp knife to seperate the sides of the paper or silicon cups. 4. 4-Arrange 3 or 4 slice of nuts of your choice in the bottom of each cup. 5. 5-Using a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle,pipe a small amount of the whipped cream into each cup,top with nuts of your choice and dizzle with 1 tsp of clear honey over the nuts and cream. |
