YUM! While I haven't made these yet, they seem quite seductive;) And since the cookies are covered in a basic batter and labeled as doughnuts, it WOULD be okay to eat them for breakfast, wouldn't it? I know my 2 1/2 year old son would agree:) Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup milk |
2 eggs |
24 oreo cookies, preferably double stuffed |
oil, for frying |
powdered sugar, for dusting |
Directions:
1. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside. 2. Beat the milk and eggs until well blended. 3. Add to the flour mixture; blend well. 4. Let batter stand for 10 minutes. 5. Meanwhile, heat 3 of oil in a deep fryer or deep saucepan. 6. Dip the Oreos, one at a time, into the batter, allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. 7. Fry 3-4 cookies at a time, until golden brown, turning to cook both sides. 8. Drain on paper towels; dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm. |
