If you love oreos you will love the frosting on these delicious chocolate cupcakes! Ingredients:
2 1/3 cups flour |
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder |
1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
1/2 tsp salt |
12 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature |
2 cups light brown sugar |
2 tsp vanilla extract |
4 eggs |
1 1/2 cups buttermilk |

1 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp whipping cream |
3 tbsp powdered sugar |
1/2 tsp vanilla extract |
6 tbsp crushed oreos |
12 oreos halfed |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. In bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt 3. In electric mixer cream butter until smooth 4. Add in brown sugar and mix until fluffy 5. Add in vanilla and eggs, mixing after each addition 6. Slowly add in flour mixture in 3 parts, alternating with addition of buttermilk 7. Pour batter into 24 muffin tins 8. Bake 18-20 minutes 9. In electric mixture, mix whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff 10. Once desired consistency, fold in oreo crumbs 11. Once cupcakes have cool, pipe frosting on top of each cupcake 12. Break the whole oreos in half and top each cupcake with half of an oreo |
