Ora's Deep Dark Chocolate Cake |

Sinful, sensational, and luscious, this cake is too easy to make to be this good! My grandmother gave me this recipe when I got married. Make it and you'll see why she kept it such a secret. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
3/4 cup cocoa |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 eggs |
1 cup milk |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans (tip:use cocoa powder to dust pan). 3. In large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla: beat on medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes. 5. Stir in water. 6. (Batter will be thin.). 7. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. 8. Bake 30-35 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 9. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. 10. Cool completely. 11. Prepare Ora's Favorite Frosting; spread between layers and over top and sides of cake. |
