This sounds like a perfect snack for spring. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
2 teaspoons orange rind |
1/4 teaspoon ginger |
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 cup flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. Cream butter and powdered sugar together. Add the orange peel, spices and flour. 3. Knead until smooth. 4. Butter a shortbread (or cake) pan. Press dough into pan. Prick with a fork. 5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Turn out and cut while still warm. |
