This make-ahead French toast casserole--seasoned with nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and orange marmalade--makes brunch a snap. Assemble the night before, then bake in the morning for an easy, stress-free meal. Ingredients:
6 slices sourdough or egg bread |
6 eggs |
2 cups heavy cream |
1 cup orange marmalade |
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon spice islandsĀ® ground nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon spice islandsĀ® ground cloves |
1/4 teaspoon spice islandsĀ® ground ginger |
topping |
1/4 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Arrange bread, overlapping slices to cover bottom of pan. 2. Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly; pour over bread. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 3. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until set. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
