A HOLIDAY BREAD, THATS VERY GOOD IF YOU LIKE ORANGE; AND YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE SEVERAL LOAFS TO KEEP ON HAND FOR FRIENDS DROPPING BY FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine, softened |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
2 eggs |
10 - ounce jar of orange marmalade |
2 - 3/4 cup all- purpose flour |
2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup orange juice |
1/2 cup chopped nuts your choice |
Directions:
1. BEAT TOGETHER, MARGARINE AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY. 2. ADD EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, MIXING WELL., BLEND IN MARMALADE; SET ASIDE. 3. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA, AND SALT. 4. ADD DRY INGREDIENTS TO MARGARINE MIXTURE ALTERNATELY WITH ORANGE JUICE; STIR IN NUTS. 5. POUR INTO A GREASED AND FLOURED 9 X 5 LOAF PAN. 6. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR ABOUT ONE HOUR, OR UNTIL TOOTHPICK TESTS CLEAN. 7. COOL 15 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN 8. MAKES ONE LOAF...... |
