This is an awesome beet recipe. I love it and hope you do too. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon margarine |
1/2 tablespoon minced onion |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 teaspoon grated orange rind |
1/2 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons light corn syrup |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
dash salt |
dash pepper |
2 cans sliced beets drained |
Directions:
1. Melt margarine in 3 quart saucepan over medium heat. 2. Add onion and cook 1 minute stirring constantly. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Stir in cornstarch until smooth. 5. Mix in orange rind, juice, corn syrup, lemon juice, salt and pepper. 6. Heat to boiling stirring constantly. 7. Add beets then stir well. 8. Cover and simmer 5 minutes until thoroughly heated. |
