Stouffer's used to have these in the freezer section at the store back in Maryland in the 70's. If you're old enough to remember them, this recipe is identical! Great for holidays like Christmas and Easter with ham. Read more . Also, they look like beautiful ruby gems on the table. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon cornstarch |
2/3 cup orange juice |
salt and pepper, to taste |
1 16 ounch can beets, sliced |
Directions:
1. Melt butter. Mix sugar and cornstarch and blend into butter. Stir in o.j. and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper and beets. Cook unti beets are heated through. Sprinkle with grated orange rind. |
