From Betty Crocker's Cooky Book from '63. Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons grated orange rind |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400ºF (204ºC). 2. Mix shortening, sugar, and egg together completely. 3. Stir in orange juice and orange rind. 4. Slowly mix in flour. 5. Blend all other ingredients together; add to orange mixture. 6. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. 7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until delicately browned on edges. . |
