This is a family dessert that has been a traditional Christmas dessert in my life for more years than I can even remember. Makes a large bowl. Ingredients:
1 package orange jello |
1 cup boiling water |
2 cans mandarin orange segments |
1 cup sour cream |
1 pint vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Drain the orange segments into a measuring cup and add cold water to make 1 cup. Make the Jello with the boiling water and the orange juice and water. Refrigerate until almost set - should be a bit wigglier than what it is like normally when it is ready. 2. Thaw ice cream until it is soft enough to mix. 3. Fold ice cream, sour cream and orange segments into the Jello. Fold in well, but try not to over-mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve. |
