1/2 cup sugar |
6 tablespoons cornstarch |
6 egg yolks |
2 cups half-and-half |
3 tablespoons butter, cut up |
3 tablespoons orange liqueur or orange juice concentrate |
2 tablespoons grated orange rind |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, whisking constantly. Boil, whisking constantly, 1 minute or until thickened. Remove from heat; whisk in butter and remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour into a bowl; cover and chill at least 4 hours. |
