Ingredients:
1 cup(s) margarine or butter |
2 orange juice and rind |
1 cup(s) buttermilk |
1 teaspoon(s) soda |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
2 cup(s) sugar |
2 eggs |
4 cup(s) flour |
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder |
2 tablespoon(s) orange juice |
1 box(es) powdered sugar |
4 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine |
1 orange rind and juice |
1 orange grated rind |
Directions:
1. Cream together butter and sugar. Combine rind and juice of 2 oranges, eggs and buttermilk. Add this to cream mixture alternately with flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add 2 teaspoons orange juice to this batter. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 425 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. When cool, ice with orange icing above. Delicious and moist. Yield: about 4 dozen. |
