From Jennifer Appel (Buttercup Bake Shop, New York City) for TOH. January 2009 issue. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup unsalted butter, softened |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 large egg, room temperature |
1 cup white chocolate chips |
1 tablespoon orange zest |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and both sugars until smooth, about 3 minutes. Add egg and mix well. Add flour mixture slowly, incorporating well. Stir in white chocolate chips and orange zest. 2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool for minutes before removing to wire racks. |
