This orange chicken is fantastic! In my opinion, it's better than restaurant quality. A friend shared this with me and I love it so much. You can reduce the amount of sugar and it will still taste great. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon cornstarch |
1/2 cup vinegar |
1/4 cup water |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
3 teaspoons ketchup |
1 teaspoon honey |
1 teaspoon orange extract (found near the vanilla) |
1 1/2 lbs chicken breasts |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Cut chicken into pieces. 2. In one dish, put 2 eggs with a dash of salt. In another put flour with one teaspoon garlic powder. 3. Coat the chicken in the egg, then the flour. 4. Brown the chicken in olive oil in a skillet. 5. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 6. Mix the remaining ingredients together to form the sauce. 7. Put chicken in a casserole dish. Put half the sauce over and cook for 15 minutes. 8. Flip and put remaining sauce and cook for another 15 minutes. 9. Serve over white rice. |
