Entered for safe-keeping. From First 3/09/09, this was a big hit when originally printed in the magazine in 1994. Cooking time is chilling time. Ingredients:
1 large orange, zested and juiced |
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar |
2 teaspoons sesame oil |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced |
4 cups red cabbage, thinly sliced |
4 scallions, thinly sliced |
3 medium carrots, shredded |
8 cabbage leaves, for garnish |
black sesame seed, for garnish |
white sesame seeds, for garnish |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, 1 1/4 teaspoon orange zest, vinegar, sesame oil and salt until blended. 2. Add green cabbage, red cabbage, scallions and carrots; toss gently to coat. Cover and chill 1 hour. 3. Arrange cabbage leaves on serving platter, if desired. Top with slaw. 4. Garnish with black and white sesame seeds, if desired. |
