A woman named Brenda Jacobson gave out this recipe at a church activity, and I snatched it right up! So wonderful, easy, and different. At brunches I'll serve this alongside a mint brownie for a different selection and it gets rave reviews. My kids even prefer these over the original. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup butter (softened) |
4 eggs |
2 teaspoons pure orange extract |
1 teaspoon grated orange zest |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1 tablespoon orange juice |
1 teaspoon grated orange zest |
Directions:
1. BROWNIE:. 2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt together. 3. Next add butter, eggs, orange extract, and orange zest. 4. Mix till well blended. 5. Pour into a greased 9X13 pan. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min, or until golden brown. 7. GLAZE:. 8. Mix together until smooth. While cake is still hot, poke entire cake with a fork. Pour glaze over top and spread. Cool and cut into squares. |
