A refreshing non-alcoholic treat perfect for a summer breakfast! This is originally from a free recipe card in the Safeway produce section. I have had a lot of fun dressing it up for different occasions by adding vanilla flavored vodka, white rum or white tequila. I have also played with the citrus juice, using combinations of orange, grapefruit, and lime with excellent results! I swear I have never made this the same way twice! This is the basic recipe - have fun with it!
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup ice cube
orange slice (optional)
Directions:
1. In a blender combine the orange juice, milk, sugar and vanilla - blend until mixed.
2. With the blender running, add ice cubes, 1 at a time, through the lid opening.
3. Blend until smooth.
4. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with orange slices if desired.
