This is a fantastic and easy salad that I actually talked a restaurant owner into giving me. I had it as his restaurant, and loved it, so here it is for your dining pleasure. Enjoy Ingredients:
1/4 cup almonds slivered |
2 green onions chopped |
1 head romaine lettuce |
11 ounces mandarin oranges drained |
1-1/2 cups mushrooms sliced |
dressing |
1 tablespoon granulated sugar |
1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
1/8 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
1 egg yolk |
Directions:
1. Shaking constantly toast almonds in skillet over low until golden brown about 5 minutes. 2. Wash and dry lettuce then tear into bite size pieces. 3. Place lettuce, onions and oranges in large salad bowl. 4. Combine all dressing ingredients except yolk. 5. Add yolk in thin stream and process until well blended. 6. Just before serving toss well and refrigerate leftover dressing. |
