My wife wanted something different, something unlike other cookies. So I set out to make something never made before. Crispy on the outside, and though they come out very thin, they are still chewy. New twist on Chocolate Chip Cookies. Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened to room temp |
1/2 cup butter flavor shortening |
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar |
1 egg |
2 teaspoons molasses |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. In large mixing bowl thoroughly mix butter, shortening and sugar. Stir in egg and molasses. 3. Dump salt, baking soda and flour into wet mix and on low speed, mix well for 2 minutes. Add in chocolate chips and mix for another minute. 4. Scoop a silverware-spoon serving size and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart and from edge. This will spread out fairly flat and even. 5. Cook for 7-9 minutes, until JUST turning brown on edge and remove. Cool on sheet for 4 minutes and then place on cooling rack until ready to eat or place in cookie jar. 6.
