Taste like the ol' Sonic recipe. Ingredients:
batter |
3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 cup milk |
6 tablespoons white cornmeal |
1 tablespoon veg. oil |
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt (nature's seasoning) |
onion rings |
veg. oil for frying |
1 large valdalia onion or sweet onion, cut into 1/2-inch slices and seperated into rings |
Directions:
1. Combine all batter ingredients in small mixing bowl. Stir until smooth. 2. Heat 2 to 3 inches of Veg. Oil in deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F. Dip few inion rings in batter. Let excess batter drip back into bowl. Fry a few at a time, 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining onion rings. Serve immediately or keep warm in 175^F onion. |
