Ingredients:
1 cup tempura batter frying mix
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup beer
1 large white onion, cut into thick slices (extra-large)
6 cups vegetable oil, in deep fryer
Directions:
1. Preheat fryer to 375.
2. Combine tempura, spices, water and beer to make a batter.
3. Dip the onion rings into the batter and drop into heated oil.
4. Cook 3-5 minutes, or until a golden brown.
