This recipe is courtesy of an old church cook book. Ingredients:
3/4 cup flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon cornmeal |
3/4 cup milk |
2 1/2 cups onions, finely chopped |
shortening |
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients. 2. Add milk and mix well. 3. Stir in onions. 4. Drop batter in small mounds into hot shortening. 5. Fry until golden brown on both sides, turning once. |
