Serve with cold meats, sausages or goats cheese. Ingredients:
3 cups white sugar |
3 cups white vinegar |
6 brown onions, halved lengthways |
2 bay leaves |
6 peppercorns |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients into large, deep saucepan. 2. Stir till sugar dissolves and mixture boils. 3. Simmer, stirring every now and again for 45 minutes. 4. Onions should be translucent. 5. Liquid should be nearly all evaporated. 6. Set aside to cool to room temp then spoon into sterilized jars and seal. |
