I found this recipe from a newspaper clipping tucked into an old cookbook. It said, This chocolate cake is handy because you can use either sweet or sour cream and it takes just a minute to mix, says Mrs. Donald Oster of Whiting (Monona county). Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup flour |
1 cup cream (sweet or sour) |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2 eggs |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
1 pinch salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Put all the ingredients into one bowl and mix. Bake in a 9x9 pan at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. (I baked mine in two greased and papered 9-inch round cake pans at 375 for 25 minutes). Frost. |
