These really are for dogs, but we sampled them anyway. Not bad - they tasted a little like Triscuits - but I did notice a strong urge to itch behind my ears afterward. Source: Marcia Manderville, Hudson. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour |
1/2 cup quick rolled oats |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
1/2 cup white flour |
1 teaspoon sugar |
3/4 cup powdered milk |
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal |
1/2 cup hot water |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon chicken or beef bouillon granules |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until well blended. 3. Roll out on floured board. 4. Cut out treats with bone-shaped cookie cutter. 5. Bake 15-20 minutes or until dry. 6. Makes about 3 dozen. |
