This is the recipe that my Mom used to use when I was just a child, and it was so delicious, and I will never forget the good times we had making this, so much fun, with the dish of cold water to test the ball consistency - No thermometers then - the neighborhood kids would love it when the days would come for it to be made, it was shared with everyone!! Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2 1/2 cups brown sugar |
1 cup molasses |
1 (15 ounce) can evaporated milk |
Directions:
1. Melt butter, add sugar and molasses. Let come to a boil, add milk and boil 20 minutes (firmball 245F), stir constantly. Pour into buttered pan and mark into squares while warm. |
