Easy bread, no kneading, baked in a greased and floured bundt or tube pan. This is a wonderful old recipe. Have made it for years. The aroma of the baking bread is heavenly. Ingredients:
1 cup milk |
5 tablespoons crisco |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
4 cups flour |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 packages dry yeast |
3 beaten eggs |
Directions:
1. In saucepan, heat milk, Crisco, and sugar until warm 2. In a large mixer bowl whisk 1-1/2 cups flour, salt, and yeast 3. With mixer, blend both mixtures 4. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes 5. Gradually add 1/2 cup flour and eggs on high for 2 minutes 6. Mix in remaining 2 cups flour (batter will be thick) 7. Cover bowl, let rise until double in bulk (about an hour) 8. Punch dough down with wooden spoon 9. With mixer, beat on low speed again for a few seconds 10. Place into a greased and floured bundt or tube pan 11. Cover, let rise until dough increases 1/3 in bulk 12. Bake 40 minutes (or a little longer) at 350 degrees 13. When done, loosen sides and center with knife, and turn onto a plate just like a cake. 14. Cut into slices and serve warm with lots of butter :) |
