best pasta sauce I know. so worth the time. we love it. makes a lot ,but freezes great. Ingredients:
2 lbs grund beef |
1 lb ground pork |
2 t olive oil |
2 onions chopped |
1 clove garlic |
3 cups dry red wine |
2 lbs mushrooms sliced |
1/4 t dried rosemary |
4 t fresh oregano |
1/4 t chopped fresh thyme |
3 tomato sauce |
1 tomatopaste |
2 t parmesan cheese |
an cheese |
Directions:
1. brown meat in large skillet. 2. in another pot, saute onions and garlic until tender. add 1/2 C wine.mix well. 3. add mushrooms, herbs and another 1/2 C wine.saute until tender. 4. add....browned meat, tomato sauce, tomato paste. Simmer one hour, then add the last 2 Cups of wine. 5. simmer very slow for 2 to 3 hours, stir occasionally. 6. I like to throw in a piece of chicken too. a leg or couple wings. |
